Christmastime at Bethany
The Christmas season is here, and that has always been a beautiful time at Bethany. While the world can often seem dark, we are a people of hope. This year’s advent theme is Celebrating Hope, with this new series beginning on November 27th and culminating on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve services are as follows:
2 pm Family. This is our family service and will be led by our children. They are hard at work even now rehearsing a special Christmas pageant and practicing scripture readings and prayers. We will sing Christmas carols together and have a child-friendly candle-lighting.
4 PM Traditional. This service is known for a variety of music offerings. It will not only feature the chancel choir, but also includes handbell selections, special vocalists, violin, cello, and organ. We will also celebrate with our traditional “O Holy Night”, an uplifting rendition of “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and candlelighting to “Silent Night”.
6 pm Contemporary. This service features our Praise Band and a more contemporary style to the service overall with a higher energy. Christmas Eve usually has more traditional elements in general with the Lighting of the Christ candle and the Christmas blessing and those will be included in this service as well as the closing with Silent night and candle lighting.
11 pm Traditional (Chapel). This is a traditional service with scripture, carols, music, communion, and candle lighting.
