The Cavanagh House is a non-profit organization located in Reisterstown that provides the training, opportunities, and support needed to learn a trade and gain a career. The school is focused on skills in upholstery, fashion design, alterations, and sewing techniques. All of the instructors are volunteers. In June and August, Bethany UMC volunteers helped The Cavanagh House staff sort and clean out some of the storage areas--lots of stuff had piled up since the pandemic. While sorting in August, our team we found cotton fabric that wasn't good for upholstery, but could be used to make bags for the Honduras mission and others found pieces of used furniture the school couldn't use, but Bethany could give to the refugee families for the Welcome Home project. Great collaboration!
Bethany's very first Summer Fun Family retreat and our last 2023 Summer Fun Family Adventure was held at Catoctin Wildlife Preserve last Sunday! We had a WONDER-FULL time exploring God's Wildly Wonderful Creation!

Wow!! We really appreciate your support of the card ministry! Look for our tables again in Fellowship Hall in September!
Bethany set up a home for a fourth family this week. Many thanks to Carol Miller for her coordination, and all those who donated and set up the house. Please pray for the family who is from Myanmar (Burma), as they start a new life in America.
Thanks to the team of seamstresses who came out Sunday to learn how to make bags for Charlotte to take to Honduras. You can find instructions and supplies to make bags at home in the Mission Center.
Welcome Home! Over the past week, Bethany UMC volunteers have set up TWO households for two refugee families moving to the Baltimore area. We are working in coordination with the International Refugee Committee. Thanks to all who donated furniture, sheets, towels, kitchen utensils, and food. We so appreciate our volunteers, on the two moving days, especially Carol Miller, who coordinated the moves. What a blessing it is to serve others!
THANK YOU! To all who helped pack Rise Against Hunger meals on Feb 18. We assembled 10,526 meals in less that two hours! Plus there was a fair amount of chatter and dancing going on too. To those who brought food and other items for the Elkridge Love Mission and At Jacobs Well. Appreciate your support.
Thank you to the families who filled shoe boxes with gifts for needy children from all over the world. Bethany also sent a crew to help inspect and prep boxes for shipment.
