Lenten Devotional: Practicing Daily Reflections
March 5 – April 20, 2025
Throughout this Lenten season, we will focus on the spiritual practices that shape our connection with God and deepen our faith. Just as we need to practice skills in life to grow and overcome challenges, our relationship with God requires intentional practice. From communication and vulnerability to listening and sacrifice, each week will guide us in reflecting on a different aspect of our spiritual discipline. Together, we will explore how these practices invite us to grow in trust, hope, and love as we follow Jesus through the journey of Lent.
Come join us on the journey!
Ash Wednesday begins the 40 days of lent, a time when we remember that Jesus spent 40 days in the desert fasting and resisting temptation. As we enter the season of Lent, a time of reflection, repentance, and preparation for the celebration of Easter, we invite you to join us for a special Ash Wednesday Worship Service that will offer a meaningful and contemplative experience with prayer stations, times for reflection and a variety of ways to connect with God. The reflective atmosphere of the service will help prepare our hearts for the Lenten journey ahead.
*The service will include the imposition of ashes as a symbol of repentance and a reminder of our mortality*
Palm Sunday celebrates Jesus’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem, where the crowd of people laid out palm branches to honor him as king. In true humility, Jesus rode over those branches into Jerusalem, not on a magnificent stallion, but on the colt of a donkey. Palm Sunday, also known as Passion Sunday, begins Holy Week celebrating the glory of Jesus Christ.
Good Friday, the Friday before Easter Sunday, we remember Jesus Christ’s death on the cross as atonement for our sins. Good Friday worship invites Christians to reflect on the suffering Christ went through for our sake by sacrificing his life for our sins. Reflecting on how much Christ suffered to pay for our sins deepens the joy and gratitude we feel for the gift of new life with Christ that we celebrate on Easter Sunday.
Our traditional service will feature the Chancel Choir with a focus on the role of faith in light of Christ’s work on the cross. It will be a service of scripture, music, and preaching..
Easter marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ, representing new life and hope for Christians. This day also reminds us of God’s love and sacrifice for humanity. There will be three services as follows:
Our Sunrise service will be held in the chapel at 630 am, featuring communion as we celebrate our Risen Lord.
Our Contemporary service will take place at 9 am, featuring the praise band and other special elements.
Our Traditional service will take place at 11 am, featuring the Chancel Choir and brass.
